ReasonCurrently during SCED executions in which ERCOT has deployed ERS Resources and/or RRS supplied by Load Resources, the deployments could create a price reversal. Real-Time prices are vital to sending the correct signals to both Generation Resources and loads on when to react in a manner that ensures ERCOT System reliability. Price reversals send the incorrect signal during these vital intervals and this NPRR is designed to mitigate these price reversals.

Summary

This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) will administratively set Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs) at the System-Wide Offer Cap (SWCAP) during Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) executions in which ERCOT has deployed Emergency Response Service (ERS) Resources and/or Responsive Reserve (RRS) Service supplied by Load Resources.
