NPRR443  Removal of Switchable Generation Resource Plans from Protected Information

ReasonBecause the unavailability plans of Switchable Generation Resources are considered Protected Information, ERCOT cannot use this information in the Annual Planning Model or Five-Year Transmission Plan base cases, which are posted for Market Participant use. This could lead to reliability problems if the system is planned assuming that these Resources are available when, in fact, they are not. This could also lead to planning upgrades to resolve congestion caused by these Resources when the congestion will not occur because the Resource does not plan to be generating in ERCOT.

Summary
This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) will remove the unavailability plans for Switchable Generation from the list of items considered to be Protected Information under the Protocols. This information will be reflected in the Annual Planning Models.
