NPRR #424 · Revision Request
NPRR424 Reactive Capability Testing Requirements for IRRs
ReasonIn order to perform effective testing and evaluation, this NPRR proposes new parameters for IRR lagging and leading tests. IRR lagging tests are to be conducted when the IRR is generating at or above 60% its seasonal High Sustained Limit (HSL). Conducting lagging tests at this level will allow IRRs a more reasonable opportunity to complete lagging tests. IRR leading tests are to be performed when the IRR is generating below 35% of its seasonal High Sustained Limit (HSL), we believe that conducting leading tests at this level will provide better evaluation of the IRRs ability to respond to voltage issues.
