NPRR #415 · Revision Request
NPRR415 Inadvertent Interchange and Inadvertent Energy Clarification
ReasonThe term "Inadvertent Interchange" as used in the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards (i.e., BAL-006, Inadvertent Interchange) does not apply to the ERCOT interconnection because ERCOT is not synchronously connected to other interconnections. The term used in the ERCOT Region that describes the difference between scheduled and actual energy across the Direct Current Ties (DC Ties) is "inadvertent energy" as described in Section 6.5.4 and Section 3.8, Managing Daily Inadvertent Energy for the SPP DC Ties, of the Operating Procedure Manual, DC Tie Desk. This NPRR modifies the language related to energy across the DC Ties to remain consistent with the Operating Guides, the Operating Procedure Manual, DC Tie Desk, NERC Reliability Standards and the equation used by ERCOT Independent System Operator (ISO) to calculate Area Control Area (ACE).
