NPRR334 Incorporate Resource Limit for the Amount of Regulation Service that may be Provided from a Generation Resource During any Operating Hour
ReasonThe reason for this NPRR is to: Increase the distribution of Regulation Responsibilities across the ERCOT System; Improve the dispatchability of On-Line Generation Resource capacity that is available to increase/decrease Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) Base Points by minimizing Ramp Rate sharing between SCED and Regulation Service; and Reduce the number of Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC) and Supplemental Ancillary Service Market (SASM) procurements that result from Regulation Service becoming undeliverable in Real-Time due to either a transmission constraint or a Qualified Scheduling Entity’s (QSE’s) failure to provide.
