NPRR299  Remove Requirement for ERCOT Board Approval of PUCT, IMM, and FERC Required Reports

Approved sponsor ERCOT posted 2010-11-30 ercot.com
ReasonThe current Nodal Protocol language captures the scenario that ERCOT is obligated to provide reports to regulatory authorities, sometimes on short notice. This obligation to get formats and schedules for reports to regulatory authorities reviewed and approved by the ERCOT Board, IMM, and PUCT Staff is requiring all three to approve what any of them requires. The requirement is burdensome and unnecessary.

Summary
This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) modifies the Nodal Protocols to better capture the requirement for ERCOT to prepare and submit reports in accordance with its regulatory requirements. This NPRR removes the need for the ERCOT Board, Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) Staff and Independent Market Monitor (IMM) to approve a schedule and format for reports.
