NPRR298 New Definitions Related to Black Start and Clarification to the Hourly Standby Fee Payments for Black Start Resources (formerly "New Definitions Related to Black Start")
ReasonThe purpose of this NPRR is to create definitions for black start related terms and to clarify those terms that were previously used and/or undefined. This NPRR also defines North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) related restoration terms for the ERCOT System.Additionally, this NPRR proposes changes to Section 22D in order to clarify the Hourly Standby Fee Payments for Black Start Resources to make the terminology and acronyms consistent with those in Section 6.6.8.1.

Summary
This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) proposes new definitions to Section 2.1 and clarifies the use of black start terminology in other sections of the Nodal Protocols. This NPRR also identifies uses of the proposed terms(s) and makes language changes if applicable and aligns the terminology and acronym related to the Hourly Standby Fee Payment with Section 6.6.8.1, Black Start Capacity Payment.
