NPRR266 Installed Capacity of Unregistered Distributed Generation (DG)
ReasonThe approved NPRR208, Registration and Settlement of Distributed Generation (DG) Less Than One MW, added language to Section 16.5, paragraph (2) requires that ERCOT report the total unregistered installed capacity below the current DG registration threshold, summed by Load Zone. The report is to be used to determine if the registration threshold needs to be reduced to keep the total installed capacity of unregistered DG to no more than seven MW in any Load Zone. However, the language can be misinterpreted to mean that the capacity of registered and unregistered DG is to be totaled.
