NPRR101  Modify Time Requirements for Entry of Equipment in the Outage Scheduler

Approved sponsor Trip Doggett on behalf of the Transition Plan Task Force (TPTF) posted 2008-02-06 next action Consideration ercot.com
ReasonCurrent Nodal Protocol language would increase the number of scheduled Outages by over 20% by requiring the entry of all supplemental devices that must be operated to switch transformers (main power, standby, autotransformer and distribution Load), generators, and transmission lines in and out of service, into the ERCOT Outage Scheduler. This increase would place a burden on and add complexity and possible confusion for the following (1) TSPs and Resources who enter Outages; (2) ERCOT Outage Coordinators who must study and approve all Outages; and (3) Real-Time Operators who must monitor and enter actual Outage times. There will also be additional impacts on the Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) process. This NPRR would significantly reduce the additional number of required Outage entries and will reduce the increased complexity in the Outage scheduling process for all Entities.
